Bye Bye Loves: My Beauty Empties for December 2013

This month, I had a lot of nail care empties!  A lot of empties in general!  I guess I'm clearing out for the New Year!

Seche Rebuild Base Coat
.5 fl.oz. $4.70
I originally got this at Sally's Beauty Supply, but can't seem to find it there anymore.  After a quick google search I found that you can find it much cheaper online anyway.  It is on amazon for around $5 and TransDesign for $4.70 and I think I got it from Sally's for around $9.  Anyway, I really loved it.  It looks milky in the bottle, but goes on pretty clear.  I think the slight milky appearance helped my nails look better when I was wearing it alone.  I used it faithfully as a base coat and not only did I really see an improvement in my nails, but it was a great base for polish, too.  It provides a smoother surface for polish and I very rarely have a problem with staining when I use this.  I highly recommend trying it.  I will certainly repurchase it, but right now I'm giving Seche Retain a try.

Julep Conditioning Nail Polish Remover
4 fl.oz. $14.00
I didn't really care for this polish remover, but the bottle is fantastic!  I just adore the pump style top.  It is just so easy to use!  The remover wasn't bad, it just wasn't amazing.  It did a fine job of removing my nail polish, but not any better than a drugstore brand.  And, it actually felt a bit more drying.  I won't be repurchasing, but I sure will be reusing this great pump top bottle!

Nail Files - Revlon, Bath & Body Works, Julep
approximately $1.99 each
I figured it was about time I switch these files out for some new ones!  I love this style of file and always keep a stash on hand.  I keep one by my computer, one on my night stand and one in my purse.  The one from was especially nice because one side was more coarse and the other side had a smoother texture and it was free in one of my Julep Maven Boxes :)  I know a lot of people prefer crystal files, but I love these!

Eclos Moisture Therapy Regenerative Cream - .25 fl.oz. - Full size 2oz. $24.99 at

Eclos Cellular Activator Facial Serum - .5 fl.oz. - Full Size 1.7 fl.oz $24.99 at

I got these in an IPSY Glam bag a while ago.  I used up all the cream before the serum and then kinda neglected the serum for a while.  I just stumbled across it again and finished it off.  I really enjoyed this duo.  I will probably repurchase it after I work through more of the skin care products I already have.  For my full review, Click Here to see my IPSY glam bag post.

LUSH Big Shampoo 11.4oz. $24.95
Big is a Sea Salt and Lemon Shampoo for Volume and Shine.  I love it.  I'm not usually one to splurge on haircare, but a tub of Big lasts me forever so that's how I rationalize it.  I consider it more of a treatment than a shampoo.  I use it occasionally when my hair needs an extra boost.  I have used other products that deliver in the shine department, but I have never tried another shampoo or hair treatment that gives my hair volume like this does.  It really took forever to get through this tub because I probably only use it 2-3 times a month.  I really do love it so I will be repurchasing.

The Body Shop Vanilla Spice Body Butter 1.65 oz. $6
This was a limited edition scent from last holiday.  I almost finished it up last winter and just broke it out again as the weather turned colder.  The Body Shop has released this fragrance around the holidays for a few years now and I always get something from this line.  I just love the scent! It is sweet, but also spicy and warm, almost like eggnog.  Sadly, this year it seems that they replaced it with Vanilla Bliss, which I have yet to try.  I think I still have another Vanilla Spice stashed away though :)

Bath & Body Works Breathe Energy Hand Cream 3.3 oz. $12.50 but Discontinued
It is a really rich, heavy hand cream that feels very moisturizing but it doesn't leave my hands feeling greasy.  The ginger verbena scent was really fresh and bright.  I'm sad that this Breathe line was discontinued.  There were a lot of products I liked in this line.

Bath & Body Works Slatkin & Co. Oatmeal Raisin Cookie Candle 14.5 oz. $20
I had this candle tucked away from last year's Fall collection.  I didn't see it again this year so I'm glad I saved one!  The description is spot on - Fresh baked oatmeal blended with sweet raisins, caramelized brown sugar and vanilla extract.  Smells just like cookies fresh out of the oven!  I just love these candles! They all burn evenly and just about everyone I've tried (including this one) has a nice, strong scent while burning.

Stonewall Kitchen Soy Candle - Coastal Breeze 6.5 oz. $12.50
I normally like candles with strong fragrances, but this one was fresh, light and clean.  It was a nice palette cleanser.  This was my first time trying Stonewall Kitchen's candles and I was really impressed.  It burned cleanly all the way to the bottom and the scent was pretty strong, too, considering is was a light fragrance.  I will definitely be checking out more of these.

Have you tried any of these items before?
What did you think of them?

What have you emptied this month?
If you have a blog post or video of your empties, feel free to link it in the comments below.  I would love to check it out!
