Review: Covergirl and Olay Tone Rehab 2in1 Foundation and Pressed Powder

The Covergirl and Olay Tone Rehab 2in1 Foundation and Pressed Powder are my new favorites! And, how cute is Ellen btw!?! :)
I have been using these 2 products everyday for the past month and I am head over heels in love.  The Tone Rehab 2in1 Foundation may just be my holy grail foundation.  I got 125 Buff Beige and it perfectly blends into my skin.  It provides full coverage, but still looks so natural.  It looks like my skin, but perfectly even.  It is not too matte or dewy, it is simply perfect!  I love that it is in a pump tube and I use a little less than a full pump for my whole face.  It feels amazing, too.  It is lightweight and moisturizing feeling.  It actually feels a bit silky, like a primer.
The pressed powder is really nice, too.  I top my foundation off with a light dusting of this powder using a large fluffy brush in the morning.  I only use the included sponge if I need to touch up throughout the day, but it wears so well, I rarely need to.  This looks really natural, too.  It never looks dry or powdery on my skin and this time of year my skin does start to be more dry.

I can't even tell you how much I love this stuff!  If you are looking for a new foundation, I highly recommend checking this out.  My skin is normal-oily in the Summer, but normal-dry in the Winter.  I'm not sure how it will work for me when the Summer rolls around again because it is really moisturizing, but my drier Fall skin loves this stuff!

Have you tried the Covergirl and Olay Tone Rehab 2in1 Foundation and Pressed Powder?
What foundation are you using now?

I got to try these products for free in exchange for my honest opinion because I am a Bzz Agent.  If you want to learn more about Bzz Agent check out my last Bzz Agent Post HERE.

Review and Swatches: Birchbox September 2012 featuring Color Club Tweet Me Polish

I am so excited to show you my Birchbox this month!
I mostly show you polish on my blog, so I thought I would lead with that :)  This is Color Club Tweet Me.  This is part of a collection of 4 colors made by Color Club exclusively for Birchbox.  Each color name is based on different social media sites.  I love the idea and lets face it, they had me at "exclusive" and "limited edition."

Tweet Me falls into the "ugly/pretty" color category for me.  It walks the line between a chartreuse and a lime green.  The formula was a bit thin so I used 3 coats.  I was surprised to really like this color on me.  I think it is a great color for this time of year. It is a Summer bright, but it is dulled down enough to transition into Fall.

It is a mini .25 fl.oz, which is a fine size for my Birchbox, but I *need* the whole set!  I ordered the other 3 colors and I know it is going to bug me that this one is little and they won't match, but I'm weird that way :)  The full sizes are .5 fl. oz. and $8

 This is everything I got.
This month there was a well rounded group of samples.
They also included a Fall Look Book with beauty tips and tricks for the season.  There was a discount code for Madewell, but I haven't checked that out yet.
I got a tili bag this month... meh. This may be appealing for you jet setters out there, but I don't travel that much (although I wish I did!) so the only use I really have for this bag is food storage.  It is cuter than a plain plastic bag, but they are kinda pricey at $8.49 for a dozen.
I have yet to receive a Twistband from Birchbox, so I was excited to get one of these.  I have long hair and always could use another hair tie and this one is really cute.  The lace design is printed to there is nothing to raised that will snag on things and the best part is that it doesn't leave ridges in your hair after you take it out. You can get 6 for $14.
This is actually the first blotting tissue I have tried.  I like them and 25 sheets is a really nice sample size.  I have only used a few, and while I do like them I don't think that blotting tissues will become a regular part of my beauty routine.  The full size includes 100 sheets for $10

Just another reason why I love Birchbox is that these monthly boxes introduce me to brands I never would have tried on my own.  I had never heard of Skin, An Apothecary before.  This is their Soy Body Whip in the fragrance Poppy.  It is a light and fluffy cream that is paraben-free and it has soy, vitamin C and coconut oils.  It feels very moisturizing and not at all greasy.  The scent is perfect for fall.  It is a warm, spicy, floral and I love it! The full size is a huge 16 oz tub and is $27.  I would have added it to my order this month, but it was out of stock. I guess a lot of people like it :)

I have mixed feelings about this one.  I really liked the products, but I couldn't get past the strange packaging!  This product is made for travel, which I already said I don't get to do very much.  It is a good idea for those who do, though.  This kit includes Real Clean a gelled oil cleanser and Ideal Skin Perfect Finish a color correcting CC cream in the shade medium.
Lets talk about Real Clean first.  I have used oil cleansers before, but this gelled oil cleanser is a bit thicker and easier to use.  I completely removed all of my makeup, even my eye makeup!  My skin felt clean and soft afterward and not the least bit oily.  I wish this was sold in a normal bottle.  I would buy it for sure.  The "full size" is 3 .5 oz tubes for $26.
The Ideal Skin Perfect Skin CC Cream is the first CC Cream I have tried.  CC Creams are Color Control Creams. This one offers buildable coverage and has botanical ingredients that brighten and even skin tone over time.  It comes in Light, Medium and Tan.  I used the Medium shade and it worked really well for me.  It is light weight, gives good coverage and wears really well.  But, the packaging?  A resealable packet like this is a great idea, but it was really hard to use.  I feel like there is still a lot of product in there that I can't squeeze out.  At least it will be easy to cut open :) Again, if sold in a normal bottle, I would be all over this.  The "full size" is 1 fl. oz in 3 of these resealable packs for $30.

Still there? Sorry this was a long, wordy post!  I always seem to have a lot to say about my Birchbox.  I really enjoyed trying all of the products this month, even the ones I wouldn't repurchase.  For $10 a month it is a great way to try new things and I almost always find a new product I love.

I can't wait to get my other Birchbox exclusive Color Cub polishes in the mail!  I will be sure to post swatches when they arrive!   I also ordered a set of brush guards :)

China Glaze Concrete Catwalk and Tinsel Town Swatches and Review

The weather is turning cooler and I was feeling Fall as I browsed my stash.  I have a few untrieds from China Glaze's Fall 2011 Metro Collection and today was their day!

This is 2 perfect coats of Concrete Catwalk.  The formula was perfect. I love China Glaze!  You all know I love an accent nail so I added 1 coat of Tinsel Town to my ring finger.  Tinsel Town also applied smoothly and evenly in just 1 coat.
I love this deep dark gray.  I can never get enough gray in the Fall.

Do you have a favorite gray polish?  I *need* more gray!

My Little Haul from The Nail Junkie - Fish and Tiger

I have to share my little haul from The Nail Junkie!  Aleta from The Nail Junkie makes so many beautiful polishes so it was hard for me to only choose 2 when she recently released her Animal Collection.  My wallet forced me to choose, though so I bought Tiger and Fish.

They arrived very carefully packaged in these little cardboard tubes with her sticker on them.
Tiger and Fish
I love that each polish has a picture for the polish name. Such a cute idea!
Fish has a lot going on in there! Aleta says... Fish is a blend of fine green and blue glitters, sapphire holo glitter, and silver holo glitter swimming in a metallic silvery blue base.
Tiger has thin black bar glitter in a bright orange base.
She also sends free gifts with every order.  I got these little felt pads to help remove glitter easier and her own Cutie Balm!
My Cutie Balm was even shrink wrapped. Very professional :) I don't know why I loved this, lol
Here she is after I tried her.  The Cutie Balm is very moisturizing.  My cuticles are already happier!

You can buy The Nail Junkie polishes Here.
They are $10 each and $1 from every polish goes to charity.
Shipping is Free in the US and $5 for international shipping.

AND she just released a Halloween Collection!  I am totally drooling over it!  I want them all, but I may have to narrow it down to my favorite 2 again...  I just can't choose!  Candy Corn is the front runner I think.

Have you tried The Nail Junkie's polishes?
Which 2 should I choose from her Halloween collection?

OPI Don't Pretzel My Buttons and Lush Lacquer Paradise Cove - Swatches and Review

Ever have a layering combo that doesn't go as planned?  Well, I forgot that Lush Lacquer's Paradise Cove has a tinted base... whoopsie! I thought I would still show you the photos so you can see how it changes the color of your base polish.
I started out with 2 coats of OPI Don't Pretzel My Buttons from the Fall 2012 Germany Collection.  If you are not careful you may need 3 coats of this one as it did streak/drag a little bit, but it wasn't too hard to make it lovely in 2 coats :)  I really like this color, too.  It is a smooth nude creme that I think would be flattering on many skin tones.  I am going to get a lot of use out of this one for sure!
I added one coat of Lush Lacquer Paradise Cove to my ring fingers because you know I love my accent nails :)  It was super easy to apply and I didn't fuss around with the glitter at all. I am always impressed with Lush Lacquer!
I forgot that Paradise Cove has a tinted base and I'm not sure I love it as an accent to Don't Pretzel My Buttons so I am going to add it to all of my nails.  And, you can never have too much glitter, right? It is really pretty for fall.  I really want to try it over a dark brown.  I think that will be gorgeous .
You can find Lush Lacquer on Etsy.  The full size bottles sell for $8.75 and they have minis available, too.  Lush Lacquer is a mother/daughter business and they have this polish and many other beautiful polishes available right now.

ELF Mint Cream and Lush Lacquer Salt N Peppa - Swatches and Review

I was very excited to try out my polishes from my E.L.F. Haul so I grabbed Mint Cream to try out today. This is one of the reformulated polishes that are now Big 3 Free!
I used 2 coats of E.L.F. Mint Cream and it applied easily, but was a tad bit thick.  I may add a little thinner before I use it again.  I wanted to kick it up a bit so I added 1 coat of Lush Lacquer Salt N Peppa for an accent nail.  Ummm... I love it!
Salt N Peppa has matte black and white bar, hex and square glitter in various sizes.  I had been lemming a black and white glitter and they have been popping up all over the place! I decided to go with Salt N Peppa because it also has tiny iridescent glitter that looks mostly blue and green with a bit of pink. Uh-mazing. Seriously, I love this.
You can find Lush Lacquer on Etsy.  The full size bottles sell for $8.75 and they have minis available, too.  Lush Lacquer is a mother/daughter business and they have this polish and many other beautiful polishes available right now.

Have you tried any of E.L.F.'s new polishes?
How about Lush Lacquer?

August 2012 Sample Society Box

Sorry August totally got away from me, but even though it is now well into September I still wanted to show you all the goodies I got  in Sample Society's August Box!
This was a nice little extra. I appreciate that this was included as an extra and not passed of as a deluxe sample.  It was just enough for one use, but it was nice.  It felt very moisturizing, but light feeling.

Jane Iredale Longest Lash Mascara - Black Ice - Full Size .42 oz. $33
This mascara contains sea minerals to condition your lashes and tiny fibers to lengthen.  Meh, I wasn't in love.  I thought with the fibers it would really bring the drama, but this was a very natural looking mascara.  It gives great definition, no clumping at all.  If you really like the natural look, this would be perfect for you.  It looks like your lashes but better.  I just prefer a little more oomph in my mascara.
Phyto Phytonectar Oil - Full Size 1.7 oz. $30
This is a pre-shampoo oil treatment that you massage in and leave on for 15 minutes before shampooing.  It contains egg yolk oil, soybean oil and sunflower extract to nourish very dry hair.  I have not tried this yet.  I will let you know how it is when I do :)
Arcona Cranberry Toner - Full Size 3.72 oz. $32
Can I just say that this smells heavenly! It is sweet smelling, but tart too. very cranberry.  That is where my love ended for this product, though.  I didn't understand the shimmer (that is the shimmer settled on the bottom in the photo)  It also left a tacky residue on my skin that just made me want to wash my face again. I'm not kidding about loving the scent. I might use this up by dapping it on my wrists.  I want this scent in a body lotion!
Elemental Herbology Facial Glow Radiance Peel - Full Size 1.7 oz. $64
I really liked this peel!  The full size is in a jar, but I like the squeeze tube sample packaging even better.  It has a refreshing citrus scent and it feels like a scrub as you massage it into your skin. You leave it on for 4 minutes then remove with a warm moist towel.  It is quick, easy and my skin felt so smooth after.  It also claims to even skin tone and reduce fine lines and wrinkles, but I only used this once so I can't speak to those benefits.

Deborah Lippmann Nail Laquer - Private Dancer - Full Size $18
A full sized Lippmann? Wahoo! This little beauty more than pays for my Sample Society Box this month and I am so excited to try this polish! I hope the gorgeous duochrome I see in the bottle translates on the nail.

Do you subscribe to Sample Society from What did you think of this month's samples?

Revlon Top Speed Modern Grace - Swatches and Review

Sorry it has been a while! Life has been crazy so I may not be posting quite so often for a little bit, but I have still been photographing my manicures :)

I wore this little lovely last week.  I love dusty lilac shades like this one!
This is 2 coats of Revlon Top Speed in Modern Grace.
I'm not sure what collection this was from, but the lack of # on the top leads me to believe this was a limited edition.  If anyone knows, please share!
I had to wait for the sun, so these photos are after a day of wear. It had a nice shiny finish so I skipped top coat.  It lasted really nicely, too.  No chips and hardly any tip wear when I took it off after 3 days.

Have you tried Modern Grace?
Do you know if it was part of a LE collection?
